Adam Shoalts will share photos and stories of his harrowing journey alone across Canada’s Arctic as well as other adventures.
A professional adventurer and explorer, Adam Shoalts is the author of three national best-selling books, including his recent Beyond the Trees: A Journey Alone Across Canada’s Arctic, A History of Canada in 10 Maps, and the #1 national best-seller Alone Against the North.
In 2013, he was elected a Fellow of the Royal Canadian Geographical Society for ‘extraordinary contributions to geography’ and in 2017 completed a nearly 4,000 km solo journey across Canada’s Arctic.
A geographer and historian, he holds a Ph.D. from McMaster University, has participated in numerous archaeological projects and digs, and enjoys long walks in the woods. He is currently the Westaway Explorer-in-Residence of the Royal Canadian Geographical Society.
