Long Point Basin Land Trust operates by donations and support from the community. We rely on donations to help maintain key staff-support for our activities, steward the conservation lands in our care, acquire important properties and fulfill our vision of long-term land conservation. Not to mention important operational expenses like heating our office and making sure we have the right supplies to do the work we need to do! Your gift helps to keep us going so we can conserve the land we love.

We Need Your Help!!!

Long Point Basin Land Trust has a significant and exciting opportunity to purchase, protect and restore an environmentally significant and ecologically strategic property within the Venison Creek Watershed in Norfolk County. This incredible 55-acre property contains a range of diverse habitats including mature Carolinian forest, wooded ravines, a section of the Venison Creek cold water stream system, and a Provincially Significant Wetland along the flood plain. Some of the many rare and endangered species observed on or near the property include American Chestnut, Eastern Foxsnake, Louisiana Waterthrush, Grey Ratsnake, Eastern Flowering Dogwood, and Crooked-stem Aster.

The acquisition of this property by LPBLT will contribute to building and preserving vital ecological corridors and linkages with other conservation lands in the Venison Creek Watershed.

We are reaching out to individual supporters like yourself to secure the additional funds required to acquire this vital property situated in the heart of Carolinian Canada. We hope you can help by making a donation either through the CanadaHelps website or by sending a cheque to P.O. Box 468, Port Rowan, Ontario, N0E 1M0. Any amount you give will help to conserve this ecological “anchor” along the cold water creek system and safeguard the waters of Venison Creek.

Thank you for your support!
