Viewpoint Fall 2021
Peter Carson, current President and one of the five founding members, reflects on the past 25 years since Long Point Basin Land Trust was incorporated on August 27, 1996. The Spring 2021 ViewPoint edition celebrates the many achievements accomplished and looks forward to meeting the challenges of the future.
The season is changing, and we’ve been up to a lot lately! Learn what’s been going on in the world of LPBLT, including reptiles in the Carolinan region, exploring the virtual outdoors, and ecological services. We also feature reflections on approaching our 25th anniversary, land stewardship, and questioning if society
COVID-19 has given us a new normal here at the LPBLT. Learn about what we’ve been up to, including with virtual Explore the Outdoors events, our new Development Coordinator, and some of the land stewardship we’ve done. Also, the miracle of oaks, birdathon, and our history of financial management.
The first year of Explore the Outdoors was a success – LPBLT held seven events and more than 200 individuals participated. The 2019 fall issue of LPBLT’s ViewPoint provides an overview of some of the events. As well, the unveiling of Spring Arbour Farm Nature Reserve and Trout Creek Nature
Spring is a time for growing and celebrating and Long Point Basin Land Trust has been doing both this spring. With our most recent acquisition, the Land Trust hits many milestones: 10th nature reserve; adding an impressive 39% to our protected network of areas overnight; and, surpassing a square mile
