Additional Information

This property has been named in honour of Al (Pic) and Pat Robinson for the significant contributions they have made to conservation in Norfolk County over the years. The Lynn Valley Trail, Norfolk Field Naturalists, Nature Conservancy of Canada, and Long Point Basin Land Trust have all been recipients of their generosity as well as their hands-on help. Al Robinson is a founding member of the Land Trust, serving on the LPBLT Board from 1996 until 2018, including many years as Treasurer and Vice President.

This property is comprised largely of swamp forest which has been designated as Provincially Significant Wetland. It contains a rich diversity of flora which includes Black Gum, Sassafras, Tulip Tree, Pumpkin Ash, and Swamp White Oak. It’s entirely forested – making it an important link between the St. Williams and Turkey Point blocks of the St. Williams Conservation Reserve.
