On Sunday, September 13th supporters of Long Point Basin Land Trust gathered at Long Point Eco-Adventures in the Forestview Pavilion for the 5th Annual Supporter Appreciation Gathering. Guests included key volunteers, donors, foundation leaders, local community leaders, and Haldimand-Norfolk MPP Bobbi Ann Brady.
This year’s gathering celebrated the Land Trust’s 30 years of land conservation and stewardship. Since our incorporation in 1996, LPBLT has grown from a small group of dedicated conservationists to a well-respected charitable land trust with an enduring legacy of protecting habitat, partnering with landowners, and connecting people to nature (see below for a timeline of land protection milestones from the thirty year history).
Peter Carson, President of the Board of Directors, welcomed supporters of Long Point Basin Land Trust and shared memories about the organization’s thirty year history. MPP Brady brought greetings from the Province, and Executive Director Wendy Cridland, offered words of appreciation for volunteers, donors, and contributors of the organization–and shared an update about the past year’s happenings along with some plans for the future.
Thank you to the local businesses who donated prizes and gifts that were distributed to supporters at the event, including: Long Point Eco-Adventures, Burning Kiln Winery, The Cider Keg, The Olde Tyme Deli and Eatery, Prairie Song Nursery, and South Coast Gardens.
